Reunions, EU House and the National Mall: the Tour in Washington D.C.

In Washington D.C., the #IAmSomebody Tour brought together advocacy, community engagement and the lasting legacy of the Street Child World Cup.
A reunion with Team USA Boys
The programme began with a return to DC Scores, where Young Leaders reconnected with the young people who represented Team USA Boys in Mexico City. Coming together again after the tournament showed that the relationships built at the Street Child World Cup don't end when teams go home. They carry on through local programmes, communities and the young people, moving the movement forward.
"Football brings people together. Now I've been able to meet people from all over the world and be part of something bigger than just a game." - Daniel, Team USA Boys, DC Scores
Taking demands to decision-makers
Young Leaders Drika (Brazil), Deyna (Bolivia) and Ailyn (USA), with Dzsesszika (Hungary) joining virtually, took their advocacy directly to representatives of the European Union at EU House.
Drawing on their lived experience and the demands developed in Mexico City, they discussed the challenges facing street-connected young people and how international partners can help drive meaningful change.
Football for everyone
The Tour also visited the FIFA Fan Festival on the National Mall, where we joined Bank of America, Visa and Street Soccer USA for a community football activation. With the FIFA World Cup as the backdrop, local young people got involved in the game, showing football's ability to bring people together, create connections and open opportunities.
Why it matters
Washington covered the whole range of what we do: friendship at the community level, advocacy aimed at people who can act, and football open to everyone.
