The Vitol Group of Companies and the Vitol Foundation join the Road to Rio
Posted on the 12th July 2013
Street Child World Cup is delighted to welcome the Vitol Group of Companies and the Vitol Foundation on the Road to Rio 2014.
The Vitol Foundation supports projects that promote better living conditions for children living in deprivation. Not only will the Vitol Foundation become a global sponsor of the Street Child World Cup but the Vitol Group of Companies has set a global corporate challenge to each of their offices to attain further support.
John Wroe, Street Child World Cup
“We welcome the Vitol commitment to the rights of street children across the world. Not only have they become a global partner but they are raising tremendous awareness of this issue through the innovative engagement of their offices worldwide.”
On Friday 12th July, Vitol kicked-off this tremendously exciting new partnership with a global jeans day, alongside a special live draw from their London Office pairing up the many Vitol offices (or consortiums of smaller offices) across their global network with a Street Child team for the tournament next year. Each Vitol office will fundraise for the Street Child team they were paired with, significantly supporting their work in each country and their Road to Rio.
Ian Taylor, CEO of the Vitol Group of Companies
“The Street Child World Cup will happen just before the World Cup in Rio next year, and gives the chance for street kids all around the world to play football, but more importantly be a great example of how to have a better life, getting involved in education again, getting back to their families, and trying to take away the problems that they have. It’s a really good project, we’re very convinced it can do a lot of very good things, and I hope we’ll (Vitol Group of Companies) all support it, I’m really proud that this is the kind of thing that Vitol does.”
