On Tuesday 17 March, viagra our Brazilian partner project O Pequeno Nazareno (OPN) begins a two-day change summit in the nations capital, viagra Brasilia. OPN will present to Government their national policy for children at risk of the streets. This covers a decade of research and mobilisation of civil society for the rights of street children.

With the support of Street Child United, remedy a former street child will represent every state of Brazil in Brasilia. The policy has been created with over 280 charities, around 800 social workers and the children they work with. The policy seeks to offer Brazilian Federal government with the tools to elaborate an effective national policy to support young people at risk of the streets around the country.
Campaign leader Manoel Torquata said:
“The time has come that the rights of all street children and adolescents must be recognised. Children and adolescents from every state in Brazil have spoken and we hope the Government and society will now listen.”
Following the Street Child World Cup, the National Secretariat for Human Rights of Brazil invited OPN to present this policy. The areas of action covered include but are not limited to social inclusion, health, education, safety, human rights and labour opportunities. Other Ministries invited to participate in the event are Ministries of Social Development and Hunger Combat, Health, Education, Labour, Sports, Culture and Planning. Should the government agree to and implement the propositions, it would be a significant step for the rights of street children and adolescents across Brazil.
