8 days to until kick-off! How you can support us during and after the Street Child World Cup

You don’t need to come to the Street Child World Cup to help us. We have two new and relevant campaigns, both very different and exciting, that we would love to share exclusively with you.

You can continue our journey transforming street children into champions by signing up to one of the below challenges…

Live below the Line, 28 April – 2 May 2014 Children living and working on the streets don’t know where the next meal is coming from, having to survive for days without, take on the Live Below The Line challenge and live on just £1 per day!

Team Brazil Boys’ member Dario joined the Street Child World Cup at the British Embassy in Brasilia last month and spoke alongside the Ambassador. Beforehand we took Dario for a meal, he drunk his drink in 3 seconds and ate his meal in 90 seconds. Why? Because he has the mentality that he will not be guaranteed another meal or drink that day so consume it before someone takes it away.

This campaign will take place from Monday 28th April to Friday 2nd May. We ask participants to raise a minimum of £125 in sponsorship (just £25 a day) to Live Below The Line in aid of Street Child United. This will help give street children a voice, when they are often treated like rubbish and will transform their lives for the better.

The 3 Peaks Challenge was a fantastic experience – and although shorter than the original in the UK (and with considerably less driving time), I found it more physically challenging. Hot, humid, relentless uphills – and absolutely spectacular scenery. To say nothing of the company – really fun. Doing my first trip up to the Christ statue, on foot, with my 2 year old son on my back, was a real highlight of the year I’ve spent in Rio so far. The event was also very professionally organised, with medics and packs in case of any incidents. I was confident that they could have dealt with most eventualities. Look forward to doing it again next year! Matt Woods, Rio 3 peaks participant 2013
