“TSC writes football history by staying unbeaten on a unique Germany trip – Bundesliga teams astonished!
In summer 2012, tadalafil TSC Academy Mwanza organised a trip to Germany for its U20 team. The main goal of the trip was to create a network of supporters in Germany and Tanzania so that we could promote our talents and street children better in the future. The minor goal was to show good performances on the pitch against top youth teams from Europe. And nobody, ampoule not even me, cure expected that we had a chance to win against Bundesliga U19 teams. However, our boys surprised us day after day, both on and off the pitch.
TSC wrote football history! Never before has a team from such poor circumstances competed in European top level tournaments. Our yearly academy budget is the daily budget of a top level European youth team; we train on a pitch that should not even be named a football pitch and five weeks before we left for Germany our goal was simply a line between two sticks. In the end we played against five U19 teams of German Bundesliga squads. We won against VfB Stuttgart (German record youth champion), SC Freiburg (Current German youth cup champion) and 1. FC Nuremburg. We drew with TSG Hoffenheim and Spvgg Greuther Fuerth. We participated in four tournaments, won two and came second in one (after a penalty shootout with Swiss Youth Champion FC Basel). Furthermore some of our players might have trials with European teams soon, even though it is a tough way ahead for them before becoming professionals in Europe. We are still amazed at the success achieved on this trip!
More important than the boys’ behaviour on the pitch, was their appearance off the pitch. Wherever we were, our boys were awesome representatives of Tanzania and especially Tanzanian youth. According to our TSC philosophy to “Promote talents and street children along the three pillars SPORTS-EDUCATION-LIFE” we had 2-4 appointments a day. Throughout the 15 school workshops, several welcome meetings and presentations in our 5 host cities and other occasions, we showed our 4 TSC movies and told Germans what life in Tanzania is like. The boys showed their legendary African warm-up, cooked Ugali, made local footballs, and most importantly they loved to play with local German children. Two TV reports and many newspaper articles told these amazing stories and reached a huge audience. Beside football and presentations, the boys had several fun activities like going to an adventure park, a zoo or a climbing garden. To sum it up, this unbelievable three weeks have been awesome for all of us and many new links to potential supporters have been created. In the next weeks Mutani and I will be meeting many people, but I can already promise that TSC has many opportunities ahead. Still all these opportunities are big challenges, especially for a Tanzania NGO and we therefore hope that we will also find new supporters in the UK. Writing history is a difficult and daily task: we want to become Tanzania’s best football academy and the most widely recognized street children project in the country, all with a minimalistic budget. Our key aspects of transparency and sustainablility will guide us to achieve this.
Finally many thanks to our German and Tanzanian sponsors such as Bundesliga Foundation, Kreissparkasse Foundation, Adidas, Moil, S’Oliver, R+V, Turkish Airlines Stuttgart, and many, many thanks to all private donators who helped us with small donations to make this possible.
Greets and Asante Sana,
Jürgen Seitz, Academy Coordinator”
“It was possible to gather many nationalities, story cultures, viagra 60mg and form a nation: a nation of free man, with equal rights and opportunities, mutual respect, rightful duties. It was 10 days when the world, in that corner of Rio, was fair to socially excluded children; they could feel the beauty of being somebody in this world.”
“I know from personal experience just what power football can have to inspire and change young people’s lives whatever their background or nationality. This is what the Street Child World Cup is all about and I give it my full support.”
“No child should have to live on the streets. I commend the Street Child World Cup for providing a platform for the rights of street children to be heard.”
